Should Collingwood have an alternative strip?

Eddie McGuire claimed yesterday to have struck a deal with the Kangaroos that they will wear their ‘away’ jumper whenever they play the Pies. If true, Kangaroo fans would be unhappy to think their jumper has been sold out! read the story

Question is, do you think the Pies have to just suck it up and get an ‘away’ jumper?

Jeff: “If it’s a team’s home game, why the hell should they have to change their jumper? Too many teams have similar strips. I like Richmond’s alternative strip. It’s still got the yellow sash with just a bit more yellow on the side.”

Paul: “We are celebrating 150 years of AFL… These teams have been playing each other for a very long time… I can’t see why we need these alternative strips!”

As a north melbourne supporter i think that Collingwood should have an alternative strip and stop using their power to manipulate other clubs. If they are not gonna wear an alternative strip then north melbourne can wear their normal strip anyway.

Did Eddie and Mini Eddie (James Brayshaw) do a backroom deal. I’m sick of Collingwood thinking they can do what they want because they have the 40,000 members. Premierships Pies, that’s what wins you respect.

I’d prefer to see them go skin on skin.
    No jumpers for Alan, hmmm.

Can you guys interview Corey Jones one day – delish.

There is only one way to sort out stuff like this , get Big Ed and Big Jim to play of for the right to wear the coveted home strip . And yes you guessed it A game of Footy Darts .

Other wise if it is the Kangaroos home game then it is a no brainer , the Kangas wear the home strip , and the magpies wear the away strip and if the magpies away strip clashes with the Kangas home strip then it is the Magpies problem , simple as that . And if the Kangas bend towards the AFL and the Magpies wish’s , then the Kanga’s are a very worried football team . Time for Big Jim to strut his stuff .

With Paul on this one- away jumpers are just silly and a cynical marketing ploy to sell more team clothing. The Carlton ‘away’ jumper is a shocker. It is white! Is there anyone who follows football that cannot tell the difference betwen club jumpers? Honestly? This is even sillier in an era of modern grounds without mud. Or maybe the AFL have moved from trying to attract ‘families’ to the footy (as if families never previously went games) to attracting the colour blind, a new untapped market overflowing with potential riches. Good on Collingwood for telling the AFL to bugger off. Not a week goes by now without a new decree from Adrian Anderson and his band of control freaks. Stay tuned next week as Andrew D releases the new AFL carbon trading policy, followed by a trip to the middle east to thrash out a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians.

Love Eddie – hope he sticks to his guns. North sold there jumper years ago and played a grand final in one! Can you imagine the pies running out in a differant strip come finals time. NO WAY!

If you sell your soul to the devil – you cant get a refund if you keep your reciept!

I remember when i was a kid , a very long time ago , and we grew up watching the footy on a , wait for it , a BLACK AND WHITE TV , we could tell the difference then between the teams , work that one out ,
