Blog Your Brains Out: Fab Four

Remember the fab four? Not the Beatles, I’m talking about Lappin, Voss, Aker and Black; the midfield masterpiece that bought the Brisbane Lions a triple premiership. This week on blog your brains out we’re asking who is the new fab four? Here’s what we came up with:

Jeff’s pick - WEST COAST

Kerr - Cox - Embley - Fletcher

“This is controversial but Cox is the best ruckman in the comp and Kerr is one of the best in the business. Add to that Embley who is a Norm Smith medallist and Fletcher and it’s pretty hard to beat.”

Paul’s pick - GEELONG

Ablett jnr -  Bartel - Ling - Corey

“I like to think outside the box as much as possible but I just don’t think you can go past the Cats midfield.”

We want to hear what you think? Which team has the best four midfielders right now? Blog your brains out below…

    Go Doggies!!!!

    Great show this week, gents.

If Josh Fraser can play this week like he did for the Vics…

    Fraser, Pendles, Burns, Davis

  3. Scott Says:

The fab 4 has to be at Geelong.

    G. Ablett - J. Corey - J. Bartel - C. Ling

But the big strength of the Cats is they can rotate so many players through the midfield. Selwood, Chapman, S. Johnson, Enright, Stokes, Kelly could all be candidates for the 5th player in the Fab 5 Felines.

Oh and add to that David “Wojack” Wojcinski, just because he’s the fastest in the league.

  4. Sally Mac Says:

    Hawks! Hawks! Hawks!

    Hodge, Sewell, Mitchell

Anyone could be the fourth - Crawf, Dew, Bateman etc…

    Go Hawkers!!!!

    P.S. Jeff is hot!

As a Mapgies fan, I’ll pick out a fab four for us, Cat-beaters.

Dane Swan (pushed for the Brownlow last year), Shane O’Bree (most underrated clearance specialist in the league), Scott Pendlebury (the next Chris Judd), and Heath Shaw.

Again, could throw in any of our small forwards (Didak and Davis both spend time in the midfield) and Daisy Thomas has done great things for us. And Fraser represented his state and is clearly one of the best ruckmen in the comp.

Here’s our picks - we thought the idea was so good we put them on a tee shirt!
