Arma’s “Sack the Research Department” Report

This week Paul was spot-on regarding the number of games that Ricky Olarenshaw played (83). However, he retired at the end of 2001 rather than 2000 Paul. He played 77 games for Essendon (1993-98), 5 games for Collingwood (1991), and pulled on the number 47 guernsey again, this time for North Melbourne, in 2001 …….. just for the one game.

Jeff: Simon Goodwin is originally from Victoria, I think, and could pull on the Big V. He was actually recruited from South Adelaide, and was captain of SA’s Under 19 cricket side at one stage ……… but he does play like a Victorian. So “Crowded House style”, he could be claimed to be Victorian.

Paul couldn’t think of a player who has played for both Richmond and Sydney. Well, at the top of the heap would be Stuey Maxfield and somewhere towards the bottom would be Nick Daffy. I would like to toss Graham Teasdale in there as well (purely for the brown velour suit that he wore to the ’77 Brownlow night), but alas, they were South Melbourne at that stage.

    That is all

Thanks Arma. That’s certainly not our worst showing. I thought of a few Richmond/ Sydney players after we finished as well including Greg Stafford, the big ruckman who turned injuring ather players into an artform.

I had no recollection of Olarenshaw going to the Kangaroos.
