Who could forget Collins – Langford - Ayres? ..... a great full back line. In the 80's and early 90's it was shared around between positions, with ruckmen, backs, and key forwards all getting a look-in. Nowadays, the NSM is just about the sole domain of the on-baller and/or smaller forward type. 2) Winning Margins in Finals Is Geelong the first team to have won two Finals in the same season by more than 100 points? Yes! Just 6 Finals in the game’s history have been decided by more than 100 points. Geelong’s GF win became the third highest winning margin in a Final ……. behind the 133 point margin of Essendon over Collingwood at Artic Park in 1984, and Essendon’s win over the Kangaroos in 2000 by 125 points.
